About this role

The Opportunity

Are you an experienced practice accountant who enjoys the technology, systems and advisory side of the job more than producing another set of year-end accounts?

This could be a very interesting alternative career path. A rapidly growing Top 40 accountancy and business advisory group is looking to appoint a Cloud Advisory Consultant to its Altrincham team.

This isn't a traditional accounts role. You'll sit between cloud accounting, technology implementation, process improvement and operational advisory, helping clients and internal teams make better use of technology.

You'll work closely with the Head of Cloud Advisory and have the opportunity to help shape a growing service line across the wider group.

The Role

You'll take ownership of a range of cloud accounting and technology projects, including: Leading and supporting cloud accounting implementation projectsHelping clients transition onto Xero and other cloud-based platformsReviewing clients' existing finance processes and identifying improvementsHelping businesses automate manual and inefficient processesManaging cloud optimisation and process improvement projectsSupporting the implementation and adoption of new technologiesExploring opportunities to utilise AI-driven toolsWorking with clients to improve the quality and accessibility of their financial informationBuilding strong relationships with teams across multiple officesBecoming a trusted internal point of contact for cloud accounting and systemsManaging projects from initial scoping through to implementationIdentifying opportunities for automation and operational efficienciesHelping develop and grow the firm's wider Cloud Advisory offering The Candidate

This role could be particularly well suited to an Accounts Assistant Manager or Manager who enjoys technology and advisory work but doesn't necessarily want to follow the traditional Accounts Manager Senior Manager Director route.

Flexible hybrid workingGenerous annual leaveAdditional day off for your birthdayVolunteer daySalary sacrifice car schemeTailored learning and developmentCompany pensionHealth MOTsMental health and wellbeing supportRegular social and community eventsSignificant exposure across a growing national groupOpportunity to work closely with the Head of Cloud AdvisoryGenuine opportunity to help shape a growing service line Why Consider This Role?

For accountants who are naturally drawn towards Xero, automation, AI, systems and improving how clients actually run their finance functions, the traditional practice career path can sometimes feel restrictive. This role offers something different.

You're still using the commercial and accounting knowledge you've built in practice, but instead of spending the majority of your time producing and reviewing accounts, you'll be helping businesses improve their systems, automate processes and use technology more effectively.

You'll also be joining the Cloud Advisory offering relatively early in its development, giving you the opportunity to influence how the service grows rather than simply stepping into an established role.

For an ambitious Assistant Manager or Manager in Altrincham or South Manchester who enjoys technology more than compliance, this could be a particularly interesting career move.
