37 hours per week (flexible for part time options)
Hays are working in partnership with a welcoming and friendly school in Sheffield to recruit a dedicated Finance Officer. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive school environment where you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient management of the school's finances.
Your new role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will support the day-to-day financial operations of the school, ensuring accuracy, compliance and effective financial administration.
Processing purchase orders, invoices and paymentsReconciling accounts and maintaining accurate financial recordsSupporting budget monitoring and financial reportingManaging income collection and banking proceduresLiaising with suppliers and resolving invoice queriesAssisting with month-end and year-end financial processesSupporting payroll administration where requiredEnsuring compliance with school financial regulations and procedures What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Previous finance experience, ideally within a school or public sector settingStrong organisational skills and excellent attention to detailExperience using financial systems and Microsoft Excel ideally FMS experienceThe ability to manage competing priorities and work independentlyStrong communication skills and a collaborative approachA recognised finance qualification, such as AAT, would be highly desirable, although candidates with strong relevant experience will also be considered.
