Job Title: Equipment CoordinatorJob DescriptionThe Equipment Coordinator plays a key role in supporting yard operations by cleaning, maintaining, and organizing heavy and construction equipment, coordinating logistics for deliveries and returns, and serving as a primary point of contact for customers and drivers. This entry-level position offers a strong foundation for career growth into operations, sales, technician, or driving roles while ensuring a safe, efficient, and customer-focused equipment rental experience. Responsibilities • Clean, wash, and maintain heavy and construction equipment to ensure it is in safe, rental-ready condition. • Organize and stage equipment in the yard for efficient access and timely delivery. • Assist with loading and unloading equipment from trucks, following proper safety procedures. • Verify delivery and return tickets to confirm accuracy of equipment dispatched and received. • Support yard operations by moving vehicles and equipment as needed. • Provide front-line customer service by answering inquiries and resolving basic issues. • Offer guidance to customers on equipment selection and basic usage when appropriate. • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in the yard and shop. • Perform general labor tasks including cleaning, shipping and receiving support, and inventory oversight. • Collaborate with drivers, shop staff, and operations team to ensure smooth daily workflow. • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures while working inside the shop and outside in the yard. Essential Skills • Valid drivers license. • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. • Ability to stand and be on your feet for the entire shift. • Ability to perform physical tasks including bending, squatting, reaching, and lifting. • Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and team members. • Strong organizational skills for managing equipment staging and inventory. • Customer service orientation with a focus on responsiveness and problem-solving. • Experience or ability in shipping and receiving activities. • Ability to operate a forklift or willingness to learn. • Comfort performing cleaning and general labor tasks. • Energetic, autonomous, and safety-conscious work style. • Willingness to power wash equipment and work both outside and inside. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Interest in developing skills that can lead to roles in operations, sales, technician positions, or driving. • Ability to oversee and help manage inventory in the yard and shop. • Comfort working face to face with customers in a shop or counter environment. • Reliability and accountability in verifying delivery and return documentation. • Attention to detail when organizing equipment and maintaining a safe work area. Work EnvironmentThis role is based primarily in an equipment yard and shop environment, with regular exposure to all weather conditions while working outside. You will frequently clean, wash, and move vehicles and heavy equipment, and spend part of your time in the shop overseeing inventory and assisting with unloading and loading trucks. The position involves being on your feet for most of the shift and performing physical tasks such as bending, squatting, reaching, and lifting. You will also interact face to face with customers when they walk into the facility, contributing to a busy, fast-paced, and safety-focused work setting. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kenner, LA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
