Job Title: WelderJob DescriptionThis role involves welding, fitting, and fabricating steel and metal parts to build and assemble equipment. You will perform MIG and stick welding, interpret blueprints and shop drawings, and ensure all work meets applicable AWS codes and quality standards. Responsibilities • Weld and fit steel and metal parts to build and assemble equipment components • Perform MIG and stick welding on a variety of parts and assemblies • Fabricate parts and structures according to project specifications • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and related technical documents • Follow AWS codes and industry standards to ensure weld quality and structural integrity • Inspect completed welds and assemblies to verify accuracy and quality • Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and safely • Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety procedures Essential Skills • 35+ years of experience in welding and fitting • Strong MIG welding skills on steel and stainless steel • Proficiency in stick welding • Hands-on experience in fabrication, including cutting, fitting, and assembling metal parts • Ability to weld and fabricate parts for equipment and assemblies • Ability to work accurately from blueprints and shop drawings • Knowledge of and ability to follow AWS codes and welding standards Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience working with stainless steel materials • Ability to fabricate, fit, and weld with minimal supervision • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work • Strong problem-solving skills when interpreting drawings and resolving fit-up issues • Reliable work habits and ability to meet project deadlines Why Work Here?You will have the opportunity to work toward a full-time position while developing your skills in a supportive, hands-on environment. Work EnvironmentThis is a shop-based role working with steel and stainless steel materials, welding equipment, and fabrication tools. You will spend most of your time on the floor performing MIG and stick welding, fitting, and fabrication. The environment is production-focused, with an emphasis on safety, quality, and adherence to technical drawings and AWS codes. Appropriate work attire suitable for a fabrication and welding shop is expected, including the use of standard protective equipment. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Trussville, AL. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
