Forklift Mechanic Location: Kissimmee, FLSchedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PMOn-Call Availability Preferred About the Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Forklift Mechanic to join our team supporting a busy distribution center environment. This role is responsible for performing both preventative and reactive maintenance on approximately 75 Material Handling Equipment (MHE) units on-site. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, experience working on electric and propane-powered equipment, and the ability to communicate effectively with warehouse personnel and customers. Responsibilities
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on MHE equipment to ensure maximum uptime. • Diagnose and repair equipment issues in a fast-paced distribution center environment. • Troubleshoot and resolve common issues including: • Battery connector failures • Prevent/fault codes • Electrical switch issues • Wheel bearing problems
• Document repairs, maintenance activities, and equipment status using a tablet-based maintenance system. • Communicate equipment downtime and repair updates to warehouse operators and site leadership. • Work safely while maintaining productivity and quality standards. • Assist with after-hours service needs when necessary. Equipment Supported
• Crown forklifts • Stock pickers • Reach trucks • Electric pallet jacks • Propane-powered forklifts Approximately 85% of the equipment fleet is electric, with the remaining units powered by propane. Qualifications
• 3+ years of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) mechanic experience. • Hands-on experience performing routine maintenance and repairs on forklifts and warehouse equipment. • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. • Experience using tablets or computerized maintenance systems to document repairs. • Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with operators and customers. • Proven ability to prioritize repairs and keep equipment operating efficiently. Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working with Crown equipment. • Familiarity with electric forklift systems, batteries, and chargers. • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation or provide after-hours support as needed. What We Offer
