Position Summary The Staff Accountant ensures the accuracy and integrity of Accounts Payable and General Ledger transactions by preparing journal entries and reconciliations. This role is cri􀆟cal in maintaining compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
Key Responsibilities Prepare accruals to ensure proper expense recognition, completeness and accuracy. Classify accounting transactions in accordance with budgets. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant accounting laws and regula􀆟ons. Perform general ledger reconciliations and resolve discrepancies. Collaborate with the Accounts Payable team to uphold internal controls and streamline invoice processing. Review custom entries and gather documentation for processing. Maintain thorough documentation to support audits and internal reviews. Generate ad-hoc financial reports and analysis for management. Apply understanding of Value Added Tax (VAT) frameworks in applicable transactions.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting. A minimum of 2 years work experience in accounting. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., ERP systems). Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and analytical thinking. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
