We are working with a secondary school in Waltham Forest,that is looking for a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join their pastoral team from November 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience working with young people who can build strong relationships, manage challenging behaviour and help students develop the confidence and skills they need to succeed.
The Role
Supporting students with behavioural, social and emotional needsWorking 1:1 and in small groups with students who require additional supportHelping students manage their behaviour and emotionsDeveloping positive and trusting relationships with studentsSupporting students to improve their engagement, attendance and attitude towards learningWorking closely with teachers, pastoral staff and the SEN teamHelping to implement individual behaviour and support plansDe-escalating challenging situations calmly and professionallyEncouraging students to develop independence, resilience and positive behaviour The Ideal Candidate
Previous experience working with young people, particularly within a school or youth settingExperience supporting challenging behaviour is highly desirableCalm, patient and resilient personalityExcellent communication and relationship-building skillsConfident managing challenging situationsAble to set clear boundaries while remaining supportive and approachablePassionate about helping young people reach their potentialA team player with a positive and proactive approach Why Apply?
