Salary: £40,000 - 45,000 per year
Requirements: Experience in a security or technical environment, such as SOC, Security Engineering, IT Support or Technical DeliveryWorking knowledge of Microsoft security technologies, particularly Defender XDR, Entra, Defender for Cloud Apps and Exchange OnlineStrong knowledge of KQL and Advanced HuntingExperience with Microsoft Sentinel, including analytics rules and Content Hub solutionsGood understanding of security protocols, standards and best practicesKnowledge of vulnerability management and risk analysisStrong technical judgement and the ability to recognise when an issue needs to be escalatedExcellent communication skills, including the ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical audiencesStrong written skills and experience producing technical documentation or reportsA proactive, curious approach and a genuine desire to continue developing technical skillsA degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security or a related subject is beneficial; equivalent professional experience will also be consideredExperience with Python, Bicep, ARM, JSON or YAML, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, codeless playbooks, Jinja2, or Microsoft certifications such as SC-200, SC-300, SC-401, MS-102 or AZ-500 would be beneficial Responsibilities: Build strong relationships with clients and act as a trusted technical point of contactSupport client calls and clearly explain technical issues and recommendationsAssess incoming technical requests to ensure they are appropriate, in scope and aligned with best practiceConfigure and tune Microsoft security controls, including Defender policies, Entra settings and Exchange Online securityBuild and maintain detection capabilities using KQL, Advanced Hunting and Microsoft SentinelManage phishing simulation campaigns and support vulnerability scanningReview client environments and identify opportunities to improve their Microsoft 365 security postureSupport incident response activities and security investigationsProduce clear technical reports, recommendations and documentationWork with senior engineers to triage and escalate complex technical issuesWhere applicable, use scripting and automation to improve processes and efficiency Technologies: ARMAzureCloudSupportJSONMicrosoft 365PythonSecurityOffice 365 More:
We are recruiting a Security Engineer for our growing Cyber Security Delivery Team, working with a leading Microsoft-focused security partner. This Cardiff-based role offers hybrid working and a salary of up to £45,000.
