Job summary We are seeking a compassionate and organised Bereavement Coordinator to join North London Hospice's Bereavement Service. Working closely with the Bereavement Services Manager and multidisciplinary colleagues, you will provide practical, administrative and coordination support to ensure bereaved relatives, carers and families receive timely, person-centred support. The role involves coordinating referrals, appointments and bereavement groups, maintaining accurate records, supporting volunteers and signposting service users to appropriate sources of support. Main duties of the job The Bereavement Coordinator will support the day-to-day delivery of the Bereavement Service across Barnet, Enfield and Haringey. Responsibilities include coordinating referrals and appointments, maintaining service user records, undertaking routine follow-up, providing practical support and signposting, and assisting with the organisation of one-to-one and group bereavement support. The post holder will liaise with volunteers, support aspects of volunteer recruitment and induction, contribute to service development and activity reporting, and help ensure safeguarding concerns and risks are recognised and escalated appropriately. The role requires close collaboration with colleagues across the Hospice and external agencies to provide a responsive and compassionate service.

Counselling qualification
Desirable
NVQ in Social Care or equivalent
Experience Essential
Experience working in health, social care, bereavement support, counselling support, customer service or a related people-facing service
Experience of providing sensitive coordination, administrative or practical support to people using a service
Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team
Knowledge of local and national bereavement, voluntary and community support networks, or willingness to develop this knowledge
Desirable
Experience working with, supporting, coordinating or supervising volunteers
Experience supporting people through bereavement, grief, loss or emotionally difficult circumstances
Experience of managing volunteers and coordinating groups or group-based support activities
