Job summary We are seeking a qualified and compassionate Complementary Therapist to join our Inpatient Unit team. Working closely with the Physiotherapy Lead and multidisciplinary colleagues, you will provide safe, personalised complementary therapy interventions to support the comfort, wellbeing and quality of life of patients receiving palliative and end of life care. You will undertake holistic assessments, adapt treatments to meet complex needs, and contribute to the delivery of holistic, patient-centred care. Main duties of the job The post holder will provide complementary therapy treatments for patients within the Inpatient Unit, taking account of individual needs, preferences, consent and clinical presentation. Responsibilities include undertaking holistic assessments, identifying risks and contraindications, delivering treatments within scope of practice, maintaining accurate clinical records, and evaluating outcomes. The role involves working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to support holistic care planning, communicating sensitively with patients and families, maintaining safe treatment environments, and contributing to service development, audit and continuous improvement activities.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Qualified in a complementary therapy Member of the CNHC or a register accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA), or willingness to work towards this
Desirable
Qualified in more than one complementary therapy discipline
Experience Essential
Proven practice and extensive knowledge of complementary therapy Basic IT skills
Desirable
Experience working within palliative care, oncology or long-term conditions Experience working with volunteers
