Borrower-Side CRE Attorney Opportunity (Associate) Overview A small New York-based real estate practice (approximately 10 attorneys) is conducting a confidential search for an Associate Attorney to join its borrower-side commercial real estate team. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work on high-value, high-volume commercial real estate transactions and receive mentorship from experienced attorneys, with meaningful support for building a book of business. Target start date is immediately, with an ideal start date of October 26, 2026. Responsibilities
• Represent borrowers in high-value commercial real estate transactions.
• Support and lead components of commercial real estate acquisitions and dispositions.
• Manage transaction workflow and coordinate deal execution across internal and external stakeholders.
• Draft, review, and negotiate key transaction documents and related closing materials.
• Work closely with senior attorneys and partners on deal strategy and client service.
• Contribute to practice growth, including participation in business development efforts.
Qualifications
• Associate Attorney with 5–8 years of experience in real estate law.
• Substantial experience representing borrowers in high-value commercial real estate transactions (required).
• Demonstrated experience handling commercial real estate acquisitions and dispositions.
Compensation
• Base salary range: $180,000–$250,000.
• Additional compensation: bonus and origination credit.
• Billable hours: 1,600 target (a goal, not a requirement).
