About this role
Overview A small New York–based real estate law practice (approximately 10 attorneys) is conducting a confidential search for a Staff Attorney/Associate to support high-value commercial real estate matters, with a primary focus on commercial leasing. The role is hybrid in New York, NY, with four days per week in-office and Fridays remote. The team is seeking someone available to start as soon as possible (ideally by October 26, 2026). Responsibilities
• Lead matters across the full commercial lease lifecycle, from initial intake and issue-spotting through negotiation, documentation, and closing.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial lease agreements and related ancillary documents.
• Support commercial real estate projects involving sophisticated leasing matters.
• Collaborate closely with a small team of commercial real estate attorneys and participate in team-based matter management.
• Contribute to practice growth, including developing and maintaining client relationships over time (with the opportunity for origination credit).
Qualifications
• 3–5 years of experience in real estate law.
• Required: Demonstrated experience independently handling the entire commercial lease lifecycle from intake through negotiations to close.
• Preferred: Experience with real estate acquisitions.
Compensation
• Base salary: $150,000–$200,000.
• Additional compensation: Bonus and origination credit.
• Billable hours: 1,600 target (a goal, not a requirement).
