About this role
Overview We are seeking an experienced Desktop Support Technician to provide hands-on technical support for a large end-user environment of approximately 1,000 users. This role will be responsible for delivering both desktop and help desk support, managing user accounts and access, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and supporting retail store locations. The ideal candidate will have strong Windows support experience, excellent customer service skills, and the flexibility to travel locally to resolve technical issues as needed. Responsibilities
• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 desktop and help desk support for end users across multiple locations. • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to desktops, laptops, peripherals, printers, mobile devices, and business applications. • Manage user accounts including password resets, account creation, account deactivation, and access requests. • Support and administer Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) solutions using platforms such as Okta and Microsoft Entra ID. • Install, configure, deploy, and maintain Windows-based workstations and related hardware. • Provide technical support for a mixed environment consisting primarily of Windows systems with limited Mac support. • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, operating system, and connectivity issues. • Assist retail store locations with network-related incidents including connectivity outages, modem reboots, bad network links, and basic troubleshooting. • Document incidents, resolutions, and technical procedures within the ticketing system. • Collaborate with infrastructure and network teams to escalate and resolve complex technical issues. • Support device provisioning, onboarding, and offboarding activities for end users. • Travel to local store locations as needed to provide onsite technical support and issue resolution. Required Qualifications
• 3-5 years of experience providing desktop support and help desk services in a professional environment. • Experience supporting large user environments of approximately 1,000 users or more. • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, desktop hardware, and common enterprise applications. • Hands-on experience with: • Password resets • User account creation and deactivation • Access management • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) administration
• Experience working with identity management platforms such as Okta or Microsoft Entra ID. • Basic understanding of networking concepts and the ability to troubleshoot common connectivity issues. • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and customer service skills. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Ability and willingness to travel locally up to 20% of the time to support nearby retail locations. Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms, particularly Microsoft Intune. • Experience supporting macOS environments. • Exposure to device deployment, endpoint management, and security best practices. • Familiarity with retail or multi-site support environments. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carrboro, NC. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
