DescriptionThe role of the Field Inspector is to be the eyes and ears in the field for the client, as 3rd party construction place fiber network for FTTH utilization. The ideal candidate will work 100% in the field on a day-to-day basis. This position serves as the company's "eyes and ears" in the field, ensuring that contractors and subcontractors are building fiber infrastructure according to approved engineering designs, permits, and quality standards.This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-growing fiber organization while gaining hands-on experience supporting large-scale fiber network deployments. Key Responsibilities
• Perform daily field inspections of FTTH fiber construction projects. • Monitor general contractors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with construction standards, permits, and approved designs. • Verify work performed meets city, county, and Department of Transportation requirements. • Inspect underground and aerial fiber installations for quality, safety, and workmanship. • Review construction plans, blueprints, and route drawings to confirm proper execution. • Document field activities, progress, deficiencies, and corrective actions. • Identify and report construction deviations, safety concerns, or damage to existing infrastructure. • Coordinate with project managers, engineering teams, and construction crews to resolve issues efficiently. • Maintain accurate inspection records and provide regular project status updates. Required Qualifications
• Experience with Telecommunications Construction, Fiber Optics, or OSP (Outside Plant) environments. • Knowledge of FTTH fiber network construction. • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, permits, and blueprints. • Understanding of underground utility or telecommunications construction practices. • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced field environment. • Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the Phoenix metro area. Preferred Qualifications
• Previous experience as a Field Inspector, OSP Inspector, Construction Inspector, or Fiber Construction Coordinator. • Familiarity with fiber optic cable installation and repair practices. • Experience working with contractors and subcontractors on telecommunications projects. • Knowledge of municipal permitting requirements and utility construction standards. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.00 - $29.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
