Shelter Support Associate Make a Difference in Your Community We are seeking compassionate, reliable, and service-oriented individuals to support shelter operations and assist community members impacted by natural disasters. This is an excellent opportunity to provide meaningful support to individuals and families during a critical time of need while working in a collaborative and team-focused environment. Position Overview As a Shelter Support Associate, you will play a key role in helping individuals who have been displaced from their homes due to natural disasters. Responsibilities include assisting with shelter operations, providing resources and support to residents, maintaining records, and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all guests.This is an onsite position with overtime opportunities available. The project is expected to last at least 30 days, with the potential for extension based on operational needs. Key Responsibilities
• Welcome and check in shelter residents and visitors. • Assist individuals with obtaining supplies, meals, and other essential resources. • Help coordinate sleeping arrangements and shelter accommodations. • Provide compassionate support and assistance to individuals and families experiencing displacement. • Complete paperwork, filing, and other administrative tasks as needed. • Maintain accurate records and documentation. • Assist with food distribution and other daily shelter operations. • Support a safe, respectful, and positive environment for shelter residents. • Collaborate with team members to address evolving shelter needs and operational priorities. Qualifications
• Minimum of 6 months of experience supporting individuals in need, such as: • Shelter services • Case management • First responder support • Community outreach • Social services • Customer-facing service roles
• Strong face-to-face customer service experience preferred. • Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in high-stress situations. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. • Basic administrative and office skills. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Destin, FL. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
