Citrix Engineer Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Citrix Engineer to design, implement, and manage a global Citrix infrastructure across both on-premises and Azure-hosted environments. In this hands-on technical leadership role, you will ensure high availability, performance, and security of virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), drive end-to-end Citrix architecture and deployment, and lead complex engineering projects in a fast-paced, enterprise setting. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, introduce new technologies, support migrations and deployments, and play a key role in shaping the organizations digital workspace strategy.Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, NetScaler ADC, StoreFront, and Citrix Cloud control plane across hybrid on-premises and Azure environments. • Architect and administer multi-site, multi-zone Citrix environments supporting active/active topology for a global enterprise. • Lead the implementation and management of Azure-hosted VDI solutions, including provisioning, updating, and supporting Windows 11 virtual desktops. • Manage system and user configurations across large, distributed enterprise environments to ensure stability, performance, and security. • Oversee and integrate peripheral technologies including Nutanix, VMware, Thin Clients, and endpoint devices into the overall VDI ecosystem. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to introduce new technologies, manage migrations, and support large-scale deployments and endpoint rollouts. • Provide Tier 3 escalation support for complex issues within the End User Services environment, performing advanced root cause analysis as needed. • Utilize PowerShell scripting and automation to streamline operations, automate routine tasks, and optimize system performance. • Monitor and analyze system performance, proactively identify incidents and problems, and escalate or remediate issues to maintain service quality. • Maintain and update technical documentation, including detailed system designs, engineering plans, and executive-level presentation materials. • Ensure integration and compatibility of Citrix and VDI solutions with Digital Workspace tools such as Microsoft 365, Box, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams. • Lead infrastructure projects such as VDI migrations, technology upgrades, and endpoint deployments, managing timelines, resources, and stakeholder expectations. • Align technical solutions with business needs through clear verbal and written communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Essential Skills

• Proven hands-on experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, NetScaler ADC, and Citrix Cloud in a global, hybrid enterprise environment. • Ability to design, deploy, and manage multi-site, multi-zone Citrix environments with active/active topology. • Strong experience implementing and managing VDI solutions hosted in Azure, including provisioning and supporting Windows 11 virtual desktops. • Deep understanding of underlying hardware and hypervisors such as Nutanix and VMware and their integration with cloud-hosted platforms. • Deep understanding of Active Directory, including Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and DNS configuration and management. • Solid grasp of networking protocols and concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN. • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting to automate routine tasks, streamline operations, and optimize system performance. • Advanced troubleshooting skills using tools such as System Internals, event log parsing, and structured root cause analysis in complex environments. • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, and projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information to diverse audiences. Additional Skills and Qualifications

• Experience overseeing Nutanix and VMware platforms in support of large-scale VDI deployments. • Experience in managing Thin Clients and various endpoint devices within an enterprise digital workspace. • Experience leading infrastructure projects, including VDI migrations, endpoint rollouts, and technology upgrades. • Ability to create detailed system design documents, engineering plans, and executive-level presentations. • Experience working with Digital Workspace tools such as Microsoft 365, Box, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams. • Strong collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams across infrastructure, security, and end user services. • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a global enterprise environment with complex, distributed systems. • Comfort working in a hybrid work model that combines onsite and remote collaboration. Work EnvironmentThis role is based in Austin, Texas, within a hybrid work model that combines onsite and remote work. The standard schedule requires four days onsite and one day remote (typically Friday), and you will be expected to work from the Austin area. You will operate in a global enterprise environment, supporting large-scale Citrix and Azure-hosted VDI infrastructures and working closely with teams that manage Nutanix, VMware, Thin Clients, and a range of endpoint devices. The work setting is fast-paced and deadline-driven, with a strong focus on collaboration, documentation, and the use of modern digital workspace tools such as Microsoft 365, Box, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams. Dress code is typically aligned with a professional office environment. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Austin, TX. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $90.00 - $90.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
