Start Your Career in the Growing Data Center Industry IES Communications is hiring Cable Technician I's to support a large-scale data center construction project in El Paso, Texas. This is a great opportunity for entry-level candidates, recent low-voltage trade school graduates, or anyone looking to build a long-term career in structured cabling and data center infrastructure.We're looking for dependable, hardworking individuals who are ready to learn, work safely, and grow within a company that promotes from within. Responsibilities
• Pull and route low-voltage and fiber optic cabling throughout the data center. • Assist senior technicians with installations and project execution. • Transport, organize, and manage jobsite materials. • Utilize hand and power tools safely and effectively. • Install cable tray, wireway, bus duct, switches, receptacles, and related infrastructure. • Build telecommunications and network closets, including: • Racks • Patch panels • Backboards • Cross-connects • Fiber optic hardware
• Perform cable terminations, including patch panels and 110/66 blocks. • Install grounding systems for racks and equipment. • Support wire pulls and conduit installations. • Learn to read and interpret blueprints and project drawings. • Follow all safety procedures and OSHA requirements. • Work both indoors and outdoors on an active construction site. Required Qualifications
• Reliable transportation to the El Paso job site. • Comfortable working at heights and climbing ladders. • Ability to work in indoor and outdoor construction environments. • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and move up to 75 lbs. • OSHA 10 certification or willingness to obtain before starting. • Strong work ethic and positive attitude. • Ability to work Monday-Friday from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Preferred Qualifications
• Entry-level cabling experience. • Low-voltage trade school training. • Experience with structured cabling installations. • Familiarity with punch-down terminations. • Experience using hand and power tools. • Data center or commercial construction experience is a plus.
