About this role
Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and reliable Access Control Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and support access control and security systems for commercial and industrial clients. The ideal candidate will have experience working with card readers, door hardware, electronic locks, security panels, and network-connected security devices. Responsibilities
• Install, program, test, and troubleshoot access control systems. • Configure card readers, door controllers, electric strikes, magnetic locks, and related hardware. • Perform preventive maintenance and system inspections. • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network connectivity issues. • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams. • Ensure installations comply with local codes, safety regulations, and client requirements. • Document work completed and provide accurate service reports. • Communicate professionally with customers and project stakeholders. • Support system upgrades, expansions, and integrations with CCTV and alarm systems. Qualifications
• 2+ years of experience installing or servicing access control systems. • Knowledge of low-voltage wiring and security system installation. • Experience with platforms such as Lenel, Genetec, Software House CCURE, Avigilon, Brivo, or similar systems preferred. • Ability to troubleshoot electrical, hardware, and network-related issues. • Familiarity with IP networking concepts and TCP/IP communications. • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders as needed. Preferred Qualifications
• Access control or security industry certifications. • Experience with CCTV, intrusion detection, and integrated security systems. • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification. • Manufacturer certifications are a plus. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Raleigh, NC. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
