Job Description A leading telecommunications services provider is seeking an OSP Construction Laborer/Operator to support both wireline and wireless infrastructure projects. The role focuses on underground telecommunications and utility construction, including excavation, trenching, boring, locating, and general outside plant (OSP) construction activities.Approximately 75% of the position involves providing field support on construction projects, including digging, trenching, locating utilities, drill support, and other underground construction tasks. The remaining 25% involves operating and driving company vehicles, assisting with loading and unloading equipment and materials such as pole mounts, base units, generators, and restoration materials.This opportunity is ideal for candidates ranging from entry-level laborers to experienced operators or locators looking to grow within the telecommunications construction industry. A CDL Class A is preferred, though a CDL Class B is also acceptable.Key Responsibilities
• Support underground telecommunications and utility construction projects. • Perform excavation, trenching, boring, locating, and drill support activities. • Assist with general OSP construction and field operations. • Load, transport, and unload equipment and construction materials. • Operate construction equipment and support crews in the field. • Work closely with team members to complete projects safely and efficiently. Required Qualifications
• 2+ years of experience in a construction, telecommunications, or underground OSP support role. • Experience working around OSP construction equipment used for trenching, boring, excavation, and underground utility installation. • Strong work ethic and reliability. • Ability to work effectively in a team environment. • Self-motivated and accountable. Work Environment
• Work as part of a three-person crew consisting of a helper, technician, and foreman. • 100% outdoor work in various weather conditions. • Typical schedule is Monday through Friday, generally between 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM. • Report to the yard location in White Marsh, MD, before heading to project sites. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of White Marsh, MD. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $33.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
