Senior Multi-Cloud Infrastructure & Security Architect (Cloud Security Architect) Job DescriptionThe Senior Multi-Cloud Infrastructure & Security Architect will lead the design, implementation, and security of enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure supporting critical email security services. You will drive the transformation of a legacy on-premises environment into a resilient, highly available multi-cloud ecosystem across AWS and Azure, with integration to GCP. In this role, you will act as the technical authority for cloud security architecture, partnering closely with cybersecurity, networking, and infrastructure teams to deliver secure, automated, and scalable solutions that protect enterprise email platforms. Responsibilities • Lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable, and highly available multi-cloud infrastructure to support enterprise email security services. • Architect and drive the transformation of legacy on-premises infrastructure into a modern multi-cloud environment across AWS and Azure, with integration points to other cloud platforms as needed. • Serve as the technical lead and primary point of contact for cloud infrastructure and security architecture for the enterprise email security organization. • Design and implement robust cloud networking architectures, including hybrid connectivity between on-premises data centers and multiple cloud providers. • Define and implement cloud security controls, identity and access management (IAM) models, and security guardrails aligned with enterprise security frameworks and best practices. • Architect and implement highly available, fault-tolerant, and disaster recovery solutions across multiple cloud providers to support mission-critical systems. • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates and automation scripts to standardize, automate, and scale cloud infrastructure deployments. • Leverage CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and tools such as GitHub Actions to enable repeatable, reliable, and secure infrastructure changes. • Collaborate closely with Cybersecurity, Network Security, Infrastructure, and Operations teams to align designs with organizational standards and security policies. • Engage with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into secure, scalable cloud architecture solutions. • Provide technical guidance, best practices, and architectural oversight to engineering teams implementing cloud and security solutions. • Conduct architecture reviews, risk assessments, and design validations to ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and performance requirements. • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, networking, and security issues across multi-cloud and hybrid environments and drive root cause analysis. • Influence cloud security strategy and roadmap, contributing to the long-term vision for multi-cloud infrastructure and email security platforms. • Prepare and deliver clear technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and presentations for technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Support ongoing operations of enterprise email security platforms by ensuring the underlying infrastructure remains resilient, secure, and optimized. Essential Skills • 8+ years of experience designing and deploying enterprise-scale IT infrastructure within large, complex (Fortune 500) environments. • Hands-on expertise with AWS and Azure, including networking, identity management, security controls, IAM, and hybrid cloud connectivity. • Proven experience architecting highly available and disaster recovery solutions across multiple cloud providers. • Strong background with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and GitHub Actions. • Deep understanding of cloud security frameworks, identity protocols, and enterprise security best practices. • Experience working in hybrid environments that combine on-premises infrastructure with multi-cloud platforms. • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders. • Strong stakeholder management skills and experience influencing and collaborating with cross-functional teams. • Advanced analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities for complex multi-cloud and security issues. • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and make sound decisions in ambiguous environments. • Demonstrated experience in security architecture and cloud architecture within enterprise settings. Additional Skills and Qualifications • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional and/or AWS Security Specialty certification preferred. • Azure Solutions Architect Expert and/or Azure Security Engineer Associate certification preferred. • CCSP or equivalent cloud security certification preferred. • Experience with GCP in the context of multi-cloud or security-related integrations. • Familiarity with enterprise email security platforms and supporting infrastructure. • Experience working in fast-paced, enterprise-scale technology environments supporting critical business systems. • background collaborating with Cybersecurity, Network Security, Infrastructure, and Operations teams. • Comfort working with proofpoint-related technologies or similar email security tools (where applicable). Work EnvironmentThe role operates in a hybrid work model based in New York, combining on-site collaboration with remote flexibility. You will work within a hybrid enterprise environment that includes on-premises infrastructure and multi-cloud platforms, primarily AWS and Azure, with exposure to GCP. The setting is highly collaborative, involving close partnership with Cybersecurity, Network Security, Infrastructure, and Operations teams. The environment is fast-paced and enterprise-scale, supporting critical business systems and global stakeholders. You will leverage modern automation, Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD tooling, including GitHub Actions, in a technology-driven culture focused on reliability, security, and continuous improvement. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of New York, NY. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $90.00 - $100.00/hr.
