Field Technician Job DescriptionWe are seeking two field technicians to join our team in a dynamic role that involves supporting new store buildouts, upgrades, and franchise conversions across the country. This position requires over 75% travel, typically involving out-of-town work Monday through Friday, with travel on Mondays and Fridays and work conducted on Tuesdays through Thursdays. You will be traveling to existing travel centers, new store buildouts, or sites converting to our locations. When not traveling, you will report to the IT center headquarters in West Knoxville for staging, training, and support.Responsibilities
• Pull and terminate cables, including Ethernet, data, and phone lines. • Install and connect IT hardware and software, including routers, switches, printers, and peripherals. • Perform drilling through sheetrock, concrete, and ceiling work. • Communicate effectively with systems and networks teams for remote troubleshooting. • Be available and ready to travel on short notice, ensuring all tasks are completed during site visits. Essential Skills
• General handyman skills, including the ability to drill through various materials. • Experience as an install technician, preferably in a travel capacity. • Basic IT skills, including hooking up routers/switches and troubleshooting printers/peripherals. • Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently. • Comfortable working with power tools and on ladders. Additional Skills and Qualifications
• Experience with low voltage cabling and the ability to read blueprints. • Familiarity with Windows 10 and Microsoft Office. • Customer service skills and technical support experience. • Must be based in the Knoxville metro area. Work EnvironmentThis is an on-site position with 75%+ travel requirements. You will spend most of your workweek out of town, returning home for the weekends. Travel arrangements include company vehicles for driving distances and flight bookings for farther locations. Hotel accommodations and meal allowances are provided, and the dress code is casual yet professional when required. Expect to work 8-10+ hour days during site visits, ensuring all necessary tasks are completed before departure. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Knoxville, TN. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
