Salary: £36,000 - 76,000 per year
Requirements: Solid experience delivering software in Java or another JVM language; familiarity with JavaScript or TypeScript is a plus.Experience with Spring Boot or Micronaut.Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS, and infrastructure automation using Terraform.Understanding of microservices architecture.Good understanding of SQL databases such as PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases such as Cosmos DB or CouchDB.Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools such as Splunk, xMatters, or New Relic.Experience with GitHub, Zendesk, and JIRA.Experience working with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.Good English communication skills.Experience in system design.Experience taking ownership of a project and leading a team from a technical or project perspective.Proactive attitude. Responsibilities: Provide technical leadership for medium to large features, participate in their design, and take accountability for delivery.Implement and ship end-to-end stories, and support other engineers.Understand team problems, propose solutions, and build and prioritize work.Develop high-quality software solutions using Java and relevant frameworks.Work with Microsoft Azure and Terraform, or develop the ability to do so.Implement and advocate CI/CD best practices for seamless software delivery.Maintain high-quality documentation for development processes and system design.Use data to inform decisions, balance short- and long-term goals, and make appropriate trade-offs.Apply our architectural standards and best practices, including security-first thinking and tools such as Snyk and Apiiro for vulnerability management and secure coding.Ensure solutions are robust, scalable, and efficient.Take ownership of systems and drive their reliability, maintainability, and performance.Mentor and support fellow engineers, fostering growth and collaboration.Automate workflows and build tools or scripts to improve efficiency.
