Salary: £36,000 - 76,000 per year
Requirements: We need solid experience delivering Java or other JVM languages; familiarity with JS/TypeScript is a plus.We need experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS, and infrastructure automation with Terraform.We need a good understanding of SQL databases such as PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases such as Cosmos DB.We need familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools such as Splunk, xMatters, and New Relic.We need experience working with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.We need good English communication skills.We need experience in system design.We need experience taking ownership of a project and leading a team from a technical or project perspective.We need a proactive attitude. Responsibilities: We develop high-quality software solutions, with proficiency in Java and frameworks such as Spring Boot.We work with Microsoft Azure and Terraform for infrastructure as code, or we are willing to learn.We implement and advocate CI/CD best practices for seamless software delivery.We maintain high-quality documentation to support development processes and system design.We use data-driven decision-making, balancing short-term and long-term goals and making appropriate trade-offs.We apply Tesco architectural standards and best practices, including security-first thinking and tools for vulnerability management and secure coding.We ensure our solutions are robust, scalable, and efficient.We take ownership of systems, driving reliability, maintainability, and performance.We mentor and support fellow engineers, fostering a culture of growth and collaboration.We automate workflows and build tools and scripts to enhance efficiency.
