Salary: £36,000 - 76,000 per year

Requirements: Commercial experience as a frontend software developer.Knowledge of web development best practices, including design, semantic HTML, CSS, TypeScript, and related technologies.Exposure to JavaScript frameworks and libraries such as React, Redux, and React Router, and testing tools such as React Testing Library, Jest, Cypress, Playwright, Jasmine, Enzyme, or Mocha.Experience using Node.js to create high-traffic applications, potentially with Express.js, Sails, Koa, or similar.Awareness and practical knowledge of UI performance best practices.Understanding of and exposure to integrating REST API endpoints.Strong understanding of web accessibility, web design, and usability across browsers, platforms, and devices.A desire to write readable, maintainable, modular, and extendable code.Exposure to the DevOps model.Experience in Lean and Agile environments and an understanding of approaches such as BDD, ATDD, and TDD.Wed also welcome experience bringing responsive and adaptive designs to life across multiple viewports; using modern JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks such as Remix or Next.js; working with state machines and statecharts such as XState; or developing web applications for non-standard devices. Responsibilities: Use JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Node, and related tools to develop and implement scalable frontend systems.Profile and optimise code.Apply cohesion and architectural principles to create well-structured, maintainable software.Identify code patterns and refactor to improve understanding or maintainability with minimal guidance.Translate requirements into tasks and code.Develop high-quality software that supports rapid delivery and continuous integration and delivery.Commit code early and often, applying version control and branching strategies.Automate by default and write secure, maintainable code while observing basic hygiene practices.Implement relevant project instrumentation.Follow best practices for continuous BDD, TDD, performance, security, and smoke testing.Work with product stakeholders to communicate needs and translate them into product improvements.Lead system-design discussions and work with Product Managers to understand the domain and drive value.Support production systems, resolve incidents, and perform root cause analysis.Debug complex problems and support and maintain software solutions.Share knowledge with the wider engineering community and mentor and develop colleagues.Produce proof of concepts to evaluate new tools.
