As a Healthcare Security Officer, you will play a critical role in protecting healthcare facilities, administrative offices, staff, patients, and visitors. You will help maintain a secure environment by monitoring activity, controlling access,and supporting daily healthcare operations with professionalism and compassion. • Maintain a visible security presence throughout healthcare administrative buildings and campus grounds. • Control access to facilities by verifying identification, credentials, and visitor authorization. • Monitor entrances, exits, parking areas, and restricted locations to ensure compliance with facility policies. • Conduct routine patrols to identify safety hazards, security concerns, or unusual activity. • Respond to emergencies, disturbances, medical incidents, and security-related situations in accordance with established procedures. • Assist employees, patients, visitors, contractors, and vendors with directions, information, and security-related concerns. • Monitor CCTV systems, alarm panels, access control systems, and other security technologies. • Investigate and document incidents, accidents, policy violations, and suspicious activity. • Coordinate with healthcare leadership, local law enforcement, emergency responders, and other security personnel when necessary. • Complete accurate incident reports, shift logs, and daily activity reports. • Ensure compliance with all facility, state, and company security regulations and procedures. • Promote a safe, professional, and customer-focused environment at all times. Qualifications
• Be authorized to work in the U.S. • Be at least 21 years of age or older. • Be able to provide documentation of a High School Diploma or GED. • Possess a valid Connecticut Security Officer Identification Card (Blue Card) or be eligible to obtain one. • Previous security, healthcare security, customer service, healthcare administration, military, or law enforcement experience preferred. • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills. • Ability to interact professionally with patients, visitors, healthcare staff, and the public. • Strong observation, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. • Ability to remain calm and professional during emergencies or stressful situations. • Basic computer proficiency for report writing, incident documentation, and data entry. • First Aid, CPR, or Emergency Response certification is an asset. • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. • Ability to pass all required background checks and screening requirements. • Be able to ace (and pass) an extensive screening process.
