Job Title: Shop Fabricator - Hiring Immediately Job DescriptionThe Carpenter will review technical drawings and specifications, translate them into clear instructions for fabricators, and perform high-quality woodworking and fabrication tasks. This role involves setting up and operating a variety of woodworking machines and hand tools, performing milling and CNC work, and assembling and finishing wood and related materials with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.Responsibilities
• Review drawings, sketches, and specifications to fully understand project requirements and fabrication needs. • Coordinate and prepare clear, detailed instructions for fabricators to ensure accurate production and assembly. • Set up, operate, and maintain woodworking machines and stationary equipment, including planers, edgebanders, joiners, wide belt sanders, and saws. • Set up, operate, and maintain hand routers and electric and pneumatic hand tools for various carpentry and fabrication tasks. • Perform hands-on milling, CNC work, assembly, and finishing to produce high-quality components and finished products. • Apply strong knowledge of wood species and grades, plywoods, veneers, laminates, particle boards, plastics, metals, adhesives, fasteners, and hardware in daily work. • Maintain high accuracy and strong attention to detail to meet established quality control standards. • Work on rough carpentry, commercial carpentry, trim work, and cabinet-related projects as needed. • Follow safety procedures and proper equipment handling practices at all times. • Work overtime hours when needed to meet project deadlines and production schedules. Essential Skills
• Minimum 3 years of fabrication experience. • Proficiency in setting up, operating, and maintaining woodworking machines and stationary equipment such as planers, edgebanders, joiners, wide belt sanders, and saws. • Experience using hand routers and electric and pneumatic hand tools. • Hands-on experience with milling, CNC work, assembly, and finishing. • Strong knowledge of wood species and grades, plywoods, veneers, laminates, particle boards, plastics, metals, adhesives, fasteners, and hardware. • High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail to meet quality control standards. • Basic algebra and geometry knowledge to perform measurements, calculations, and layout work. • Ability to work overtime hours when needed. • Valid driver’s license. Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Experience in rough carpentry, commercial carpentry, trim carpentry, and cabinet work. • Forklift Operator Certification preferred. • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, sketches, and specifications. • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with a variety of tools and equipment. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milwaukee, WI. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $120000.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
