Job Title: Machine OperatorJob DescriptionThis operator role supports production operations in a steel manufacturing environment by assisting machine operators with set-ups, handling coils and finished goods, monitoring equipment, and maintaining a clean and safe work area. This role involves frequent use of forklifts and material handling equipment to ensure efficient flow of materials throughout the facility.Responsibilities
• Assist machine operators with equipment set-ups as required to support efficient production. • Observe material flow, coil feeders, and machine controls, and respond as needed to support continuous operation. • Load coils into welding equipment using a sit-down forklift and coil grippers in a safe and controlled manner. • Monitor equipment during operation and promptly report any issues or irregularities. • Inspect material for quality, ensuring pieces meet required standards before moving them forward in the process. • Unload material from equipment and transport it to the appropriate staging or storage areas. • Restock coils and ensure adequate material supply for ongoing production. • Maintain a clean and organized working area to support safety and productivity. • Unload finished goods to the designated staging areas for further processing or shipment. • Prepare coil ends, cut and match ends, and weld coil ends as needed to support production requirements. • Use tape measures and other basic tools to verify dimensions and ensure accurate material handling. • Follow all safety procedures when operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment. • Collaborate with operators, material handlers, and other production staff to meet daily output goals. • Support various production roles such as serrator operator, saw operator, and material handler as needed, depending on shift and assignment. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $39520.00 - $39520.00/yr.
