Job Title: Commercial HVAC TechnicianJob DescriptionWe are seeking a Commercial HVAC Technician to support a primary facility through the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial HVAC systems. This hands-on role also includes general building maintenance and offers the opportunity to work with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems that keep operations running efficiently. HVAC license is not required.Responsibilities
• Install, maintain, and repair commercial HVAC systems to ensure reliable and efficient operation. • Troubleshoot boilers, heating systems, and related mechanical components, identifying and resolving issues promptly. • Manage HVAC-related projects, meeting deadlines and working within budget constraints. • Operate and maintain Building Management Systems (BMS) to enhance building performance and energy efficiency. • Perform painting and carpentry work as needed to support HVAC installation, repair, and related facility maintenance. • Understand, interpret, and implement Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems in relation to HVAC operations. • Work on plumbing systems connected to HVAC installations, ensuring proper functionality and integration. • Assist with occasional general maintenance tasks within the facility as needed to support overall building operations. • Apply safety training and best practices while working with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC equipment. Essential Skills
• Basic HVAC knowledge, including electric and plumbing concepts relevant to commercial HVAC systems. • Familiarity with commercial HVAC systems and their components. • EPA-related knowledge and experience working with refrigerants and regulated substances. • Strong foundation in construction and mechanical systems relevant to commercial building operations. • Expertise in boilers, ventilation systems, refrigerants, and plumbing systems associated with HVAC work beneficial. • Ability to operate various control systems, including those related to fire alarms and fire and life safety systems. • Understanding of refrigeration principles and operation of cooling towers and related equipment. You will work Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in a hands-on environment that involves mechanical rooms, building interiors, and occasional work in areas such as rooftops or exterior mechanical spaces. The position requires regular use of HVAC tools and equipment, Building Management Systems, and design software such as AutoCAD. Work may include interaction with boilers, ventilation systems, cooling towers, plumbing, and electrical components, following established safety procedures and training. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Rochester, NY. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $31.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
