Job Title: Building EngineerJob DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Building Engineer to join our rapidly-growing team at Harbor Point, the newest waterfront neighborhood in Baltimore. This role demands a talented professional who embraces a hands-on property management philosophy and thrives in a challenging, fast-paced environment.Responsibilities
• Oversee the daily operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and life safety. • Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs to building systems and equipment. • Complete all service requests in a timely manner and self-initiate service requests as needed. • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local codes and regulations. • Collaborate with vendors and contractors within the building. • Troubleshoot and repair building systems. • Monitor all building systems and respond to building emergencies. • Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes and make recommendations. • Respond to 24-hour emergency calls as required and carry a mobile phone for on-call duty. • Work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays. • Cooperate with all building personnel in a professional manner. • Strictly adhere to all safety rules, policies, and procedures. • Assist in maintaining inventory for cost-effective operations. • Prepare reports and documentation as required. • Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills
• Thorough understanding of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life safety systems. • Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing. • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work efficiently with excellent attention to detail. • Basic computer skills in email; experience with Outlook, Word, and Excel preferred. • Strong customer service skills. • Understanding of BMS/EMS systems. • Reliable transportation. • Minimum two years of experience in commercial real estate maintenance and operations. • Experience and working knowledge of Central Plant Equipment, including chillers, boilers, thermal storage, pumps, heat exchangers, utility services, electrical power distribution, and plumbing/facility maintenance. • Specific experience with Outlook, Word, and Excel preferred. The role is physically active, requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the day. Employees must frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds. The position requires specific vision abilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Baltimore, MD. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $36.00 - $36.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
