About this role
Support UNFPA’s Caribbean Sub-Regional Programme in advancing gender equality, sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), gender-based violence (GBV) prevention, and social norms transformation. The role combines programme support, research, stakeholder engagement, youth participation, knowledge management, and monitoring activities across Caribbean Small Island Developing States (SIDS). Key Responsibilities 1. Social Norms & Programme Support Support initiatives tackling harmful social and gender norms. Contribute to programmes on gender equality, SRHR, GBV prevention, and adolescent pregnancy. Conduct research and gather evidence to inform programme design and advocacy. Document lessons learned and emerging good practices. 2. Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement Map and engage governments, civil society, youth groups, academia, media, and private-sector partners. Maintain stakeholder databases and partnership records. Support consultations, policy dialogues, meetings, and regional events. 3. Youth Leadership & Innovation Support youth participation and leadership initiatives. Assist with the Next Wave Climate Data Challenge and other youth-led projects. Capture lessons learned and support collaboration with youth networks and innovation partners. 4. Knowledge Management & Communications Develop briefs, presentations, advocacy materials, and communication products. Document programme achievements and success stories. Maintain knowledge resources and support dissemination of key findings and results. 5. Monitoring, Reporting & Coordination Track programme activities, results, and indicators. Contribute to donor and internal reporting. Maintain monitoring tools and programme records. Support the organization of workshops, meetings, and regional events, including follow-up documentation. 6. Cross-Cutting Support Promote gender equality, inclusion, and human rights across programmes. Support knowledge sharing and collaboration within UNFPA. Stay informed on developments in social norms change, SRHR, and GBV prevention. Education Bachelor's degree in Gender Studies, Social Sciences, International Development, Public Policy, Human Rights, Sociology, Public Health, Communications, or a related field. Experience Interest or up to 2 years of experience in gender equality, social development, youth engagement, SRHR, GBV prevention, human rights, or community development. Preferred Skills Programme coordination and project support. Research and evidence synthesis. Stakeholder mapping and partnership management. Monitoring, evaluation, and reporting. Knowledge management and communications. Strong writing, analytical, and organizational skills. Languages Excellent English communication and writing skills.
