An exciting opportunity has arisen across our Bromley Children's Dietetic team for a bank band 6 Children's community Dietitian. The role is predominately to manage a complex clinical caseload within the Children's Dietetic Service, primarily in a clinic setting, and including patients with allergies, faltering growth and obesity.

We are currently looking for a Community Dietitian to join our dynamic and friendly team. The department has dietetic teams across Bromley, Bexley and Lewisham, in adults and children's specialties. We, therefore, have a good opportunity for shared learning, clinical supervision, and support from the wider dietetic department.

The Children's Community Dietetic team provides a wide range of education and training for health professionals and staff from other agencies. They also work to promote health and nutrition to children and their families throughout the Borough of Bromley.

As part of the Community Dietetic Service, each Children's Community Dietitian contributes to service development, evidence-based policy, guidelines and procedure development in specialist areas; and undertakes research and audit projects.

Each member of the Children's Community Dietetic team works closely with other health professionals, and professionals from other agencies in the borough, in assessing, treating and protecting children in their care.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics Post- graduate training /short courses or equivalent relevant experience

Desirable

Member of BDA or other professional specialist interest group in area of specialism

Professional Registration Essential

HCPC Registration as a Dietitian

Training Essential

In-depth knowledge demonstrated by evidence of Continuing Professional Development and experiential learning

Desirable

Post-registration course for clinical supervisory skills, training of student dietitians (or equivalent) and/ or 6 months experience of supervising students.

Specific skills Essential

Highly specialist level of knowledge of current specialist areas of clinical practice. Use of a car for work

Desirable

Supervision skills Clinically competent to give specialist advice, treatment and dietary counselling to children and their carers with diverse healthcare needs across the community.

IT Essential

Competent in use of IT including use of electronic patient records Microsoft Word and Power point, Internet and e-mail

Experience of using EMIS
