Job SummaryYou will serve as a Mechanical Engineer in the Systems Engineering Division (N71), Engineering Department (N7) of NAVOCEANO BAY ST LOUIS.

QualificationsIn addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying mechanical engineering principles, practices, and skills to the analysis, design, fabrication, modification/reconfiguration, testing, and installation of complex mechanical systems/components supporting oceanographic mission survey systems. Experience executing assigned products and leading teams supporting mechanical engineering efforts for mission systems. Experience supporting mechanical systems on Navy vessels by applying mechanical engineering principles. Experience identifying technical requirements and planning and scheduling resources to meet project objectives. Major DutiesYou will provide field support for operational requirements of oceanographic/hydro-graphic/acoustic survey systems.You will attend and assist at ship availabilities and testing periods.You will assist with the development and review of technical documentation to support system operation and maintenance.You will serve as a project engineer assisting managing complex engineering projects.You will collect data, analyze and record timely corrective action for system failures.You will assist designing, interfacing, and testing complex oceanographic, hydrographic and unmanned instrumentation systems.
