Job summary

Emperor's Gate Surgery has an exciting opportunity for a motivated, enthusiastic and experienced Healthcare Assistant to join our team.

The successful candidate will contribute to our vision of meeting the health needs of our patients. Previous experience working as a Healthcare Assistant in an NHS GP practice is essential, along with phlebotomy experience. A valid phlebotomy training certificate is required.

The successful candidate will work as part of a supportive administrative and multidisciplinary clinical team, including GPs, Nurse and Clinical Pharmacists.

We aim to develop positive, supportive and professional relationships with every patient, clinician and allied professional we interact with.

Main duties of the job

Duties(amongst others)

Support clinical staff with patient care, including taking observations (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, weight) and recording medical information. Perform phlebotomy (valid phlebotomy training certificate required) and other routine clinical tasks, such as NHS Health Checks and/or Annual reviews, where trained and competent Maintain accurate patient records using clinical systems (e.g., System One). Act as chaperone as required. Ensure specimens are recorded and ready for onward transportation Ensure the clinical area is adequately stocked and prepared for each session Ensure clinical waste is removed from the clinical area and sharps bins replaced in accordance with the practice IPC policy Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients and staff. Support health promotion initiatives and provide basic advice on lifestyle and wellbeing.

Emperor's Gate Surgery is a Kensington based GP Practice with a population of around 6800 patients. We are a dynamic team of clinicians and admin staff focused in supporting and improving our patients health and wellbeing. Our Practice is part of the Brompton Health PCN.

Good General Education Qualified in Phlebotomy

Desirable-Academic-Vocational Qualifications Good General Education Qualified in Phlebotomy Qualified to NVQ level 3

Knowledge and Skills Essential

Ability to provide quality care Good interpersonal and communication skills Good organisational skills Good team working skills Effective time management skills Ability to work independently following verbal or written instructions Adaptable to change Computer literate

Desirable

Basic IT Skills Knowledge in system one clinical systems Skills in Phlebotomy, ECGs, Patient Health Checks, Blood Pressures Basic first aid knowledge Health and safety awareness
