About this role

Job summary Are you a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant looking for a meaningful role in a supportive environment? Our Inpatient Unit provides exceptional palliative and end of life care to patients and those important to them, and we are looking for people who share our commitment to kindness, dignity and compassion. Following a new funding agreement with Derby and Derbyshire Integrated Care Board, we are increasing our inpatient capacity from eight to 10 beds, creating additional opportunities to join our team. Youll be part of a highly supportive multidisciplinary team, working in an environment where there is time to care, strong professional relationships, and a genuine focus on dignity, comfort and person-centred care. Whether you already have hospice experience or are keen to develop your skills in palliative care, we would welcome your application. We offer a supportive working environment where your wellbeing is a priority, alongside opportunities for professional development and qualifications. You will have the chance to develop specialist palliative care skills while working in a role where your compassion, kindness and care will make a real difference to patients and those important to them.

Main duties of the job As a Healthcare Assistant in our Inpatient Unit, you will provide personalised care and support to patients with personal care, mobility and nutritional needs. Working alongside registered nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will help deliver holistic, person-centred care that promotes dignity, comfort and quality of life. You will provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and families during challenging times, assist with clinical observations, and accurately document care delivered. You will also contribute to maintaining a safe, compassionate and supportive environment for patients receiving palliative and end of life care.
