Stokes Medical Group is looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Full-Time Health Care Assistant (HCA) to join our friendly and supportive primary care team.

The successful candidate will support the clinical team in providing safe, effective, and compassionate care to patients while contributing to the smooth running of clinical services.
Key Responsibilities
The Health Care Assistant will be responsible for:
Conducting phlebotomy and venepuncture clinics Providing wound care and carrying out dressings Performing ECGs Delivering smoking cessation clinics Completing NHS Health Checks Supporting long-term condition annual reviews Assisting clinicians with minor surgery procedures Recording accurate clinical information within patient records Maintaining infection prevention and control standards Managing clinical stock and preparing treatment rooms

Essential Criteria
Desirable Criteria
Previous experience working as a Health Care Assistant within primary care or a healthcare setting
Smoking cessation training
Confidence in phlebotomy and clinical observations
Experience assisting with minor surgery
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Care Certificate or NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Experience supporting NHS Health Checks
Organised, reliable, and patient-focused approach
Experience in long-term condition monitoring
Understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding procedures
Experience using clinical systems within primary care
Experience undertaking ECGs
Additional primary care experience
Experience in wound care and dressings
IT literacy and confidence using clinical systems

Experience Essential
Experience in phlebotomy. Experience undertaking ECGs. Experience in wound care/dressings. Understanding of NHS Health Checks and long-term condition monitoring. IT literacy and experience using clinical systems. Has previous experience working as a Health Care Assistant within primary care or a healthcare setting. Is confident in phlebotomy and clinical observations. Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Works well independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Is organised, reliable, and patient focused Has knowledge of confidentiality and safeguarding procedures.
Desirable
