Our challenge We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to help build, automate, and maintain reliable, scalable, and secure software delivery infrastructure. The ideal candidate will work closely with development, QA, security, and operations teams to improve deployment processes, system performance, monitoring, and overall engineering efficiency.
Additional Information* The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $95k - $99k/year & benefits (see below).
The Role Responsibilities:
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated software builds, testing, and deployments. • Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure across platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud. • Use Infrastructure as Code tools to provision and manage environments. • Automate operational processes, deployments, configuration management, and system maintenance. • Monitor application and infrastructure performance, availability, and security. • Investigate and resolve production incidents, outages, and performance issues. • Implement logging, alerting, monitoring, and observability solutions. • Collaborate with software developers to improve application reliability and deployment processes. • Establish and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity procedures. • Apply security best practices throughout infrastructure and deployment workflows. • Manage containerized applications and orchestration platforms. • Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures. • Participate in on-call rotations and incident response activities when required. • Continuously evaluate and adopt tools and practices that improve system reliability and engineering productivity.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. • 4+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, site reliability engineering, or systems administration. • Strong experience with Linux or Unix-based operating systems. • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or CircleCI. • Experience with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi. • Experience with Docker and container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes. • Strong scripting or programming skills in Python, Bash, PowerShell, or a similar language. • Experience with Git and modern software development workflows. • Knowledge of networking, security, DNS, load balancing, and system administration. • Experience implementing monitoring and logging tools. • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
