Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the CAMHS Crisis and Intensive Home Treatment Team (CCIHT) as a Band 3 Healthcare Assistant within Children and Young People's Intensive Mental Health Services (CYPIMHS).
The post holder will support children and young people experiencing mental health crises, emotional distress, and complex mental health difficulties, providing practical, therapeutic, and recovery-focused interventions under the supervision of registered practitioners. The role includes supporting telephone enquiries, gathering information to assist clinical decision-making, delivering agreed therapeutic interventions, monitoring wellbeing, and maintaining accurate clinical records.
As part of a flexible CYPIMHS workforce, the post holder may be required to support service delivery across community and inpatient settings, including the CAMHS Crisis and Intensive Home Treatment Team, Inspire CAMHS Inpatient Services, and Family Day Services. Appropriate induction, training, supervision, and competency development will be provided. Opportunities for rotational development within inpatient services may also be available.

Main duties of the job
The Healthcare Assistant will support children, young people, and families experiencing a mental health crisis and emotional distress as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Key duties include delivering planned care and therapeutic interventions under the direction of registered practitioners; providing practical and emotional support; monitoring wellbeing and reporting concerns; gathering information to support clinical decision-making; responding to telephone enquiries and referrals; and maintaining accurate clinical records.
The post holder will contribute to handovers, team meetings, supervision, training, and service improvement activities, while working within safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional boundaries.
As part of a flexible CYP Intensive Mental Health Services workforce, the post holder may be required to provide support across community and inpatient services, including the CAMHS Crisis and Intensive Home Treatment Team, Inspire CAMHS Inpatient Services, and Family Day Services. Training, induction, and competency support will be provided, with opportunities for rotational development across services.
