Job Title: Quality Inspector – Metal StampingJob DescriptionThis role focuses on performing detailed visual and manual inspections of stamped metal parts to ensure they meet strict quality standards. You will use precision measuring tools to verify dimensions, identify defects, and collaborate closely with quality engineering to resolve issues and improve overall product quality. Responsibilities • Perform visual inspections of stamped metal parts to identify defects, damage, or irregularities. • Conduct manual inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other measuring tools to verify dimensional accuracy and tolerances. • Document inspection results clearly and accurately, following established quality control procedures. • Work closely with the quality engineer to identify recurring issues, analyze root causes, and support corrective actions. • Follow all quality inspection standards and guidelines to maintain consistent product quality. • Handle parts and equipment safely and efficiently in a high-volume metal stamping environment. • Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safe and effective inspection processes. • Stand for extended periods while inspecting parts and moving between workstations as needed. • Adapt to varying workloads by completing inspections during 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts, depending on production needs. Essential Skills • Hands-on experience using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools. • Ability to perform accurate visual and manual inspections of metal parts. • Basic understanding of quality control and quality inspection processes. • Comfort working on your feet for most of the shift in a production environment. • Attention to detail and ability to identify defects and dimensional discrepancies. • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to quality standards. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Prior experience in metal stamping or metal fabrication is a strong plus. • Experience working in a general labor or manufacturing setting. • Familiarity with large press operations and metal stamping facilities. • Strong communication skills for collaborating with quality engineers and production teams. • Ability to work flexible shift lengths based on workload. Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a metal stamping facility that operates very large presses, including equipment up to 3,000 tons. You will work on either first or second shift: first shift starts at 7:00 AM, and second shift starts at 3:15 PM. Depending on production demands, you will work 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts. The environment is industrial and fast-paced, requiring you to stand for most of the day and move between inspection areas. You will regularly use precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers, and you will collaborate with quality engineering and production personnel in a high-volume manufacturing setting. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of MOUNT STERLING, KY. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $15.50 - $16.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
