Lead Operator – Film Extrusion$26 - $28/hr | Richmond, IN Responsibilities
• Set up, start up, operate, and shut down film extrusion lines safely and efficiently. • Monitor and adjust processing parameters, including temperatures, pressures, screw speeds, haul-off speeds, air settings, and gauge control to maintain consistent product quality. • Perform product changeovers, material changes, and die cleanings with minimal downtime. • Troubleshoot equipment, material, and process issues to reduce scrap and improve efficiency. • Inspect film for key quality characteristics such as gauge, width, appearance, strength, and customer-specific requirements. • Accurately complete production reports, quality documentation, and downtime records. • Perform routine equipment inspections and basic preventive maintenance to support reliable operation.. • Serve as the technical lead during assigned shifts, providing guidance and support to the operating team. • Mentor and develop junior operators, supporting their skill growth and performance. • Day Shift: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Every Other Sunday - 6:45AM to 7:00PM [+$1.00/hr shift premium] • Night Shift: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Every Other Sunday - 6:45PM to 7:00AM [+$2.00/hr shift premium] Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Experience as a machine operator, including setup, operation, and basic maintenance. • Background as a slitter operator or experience with related converting equipment. • Mechanically inclined with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints or technical documentation. • Experience performing visual and dimensional inspection of products. Work Environment
• The role is based in a very clean, well-lit, climate-controlled manufacturing facility. • You will work around film extrusion lines and related equipment, including moving machinery and material handling systems such as forklifts. • The environment includes varying noise levels typical of production operations, and you will need to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. • The position involves standing and walking for extended periods, frequently lifting up to fifty pounds, and performing tasks that may require bending, stooping, and climbing ladders. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Richmond, IN. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $54080.00 - $58240.00/yr.
