Job Title: General LaborerJob DescriptionThe General Laborer builds and assembles PODs that hold inventory on a robotics floor. This role involves repetitive heavy lifting, fast-paced production work, and close collaboration with a team to complete a set number of PODs within specific timeframes, while maintaining a safe, clean, and healthy work environment in accordance with company policies and procedures.Responsibilities
• Build and assemble PODs that hold inventory on the robotics floor according to established specifications and quality standards. • Construct and assemble metal workstations and inventory shelving units using appropriate tools and materials. • Perform repetitive lifting, pulling, and pushing of materials and equipment, including loads up to approximately 4550 pounds. • Use hand tools such as hammers, rivet guns, and pallet jacks safely and effectively during assembly and construction tasks. • Operate and work with various power tools as required for commercial construction and assembly activities. • Work as part of a team to meet production goals by completing a designated number of PODs within set timeframes in a fast-paced environment. • Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy work area and follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines. • Monitor work quality and report any issues, defects, or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel. • Adapt to a loud and potentially chaotic warehouse environment while staying focused on tasks and maintaining productivity. • Stand and walk for extended periods while performing continuous manual and assembly work. Essential Skills
• Experience in general labor, construction, production, or carpentry, preferably in commercial construction and assembly settings. • Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling equipment and materials up to approximately 4550 pounds. • Comfort working in a fast-paced, loud environment while maintaining attention to detail and safety. • Ability to read and accurately use a tape measure for basic measurements and layout. • Proficiency in using various hand tools such as hammers, rivet guns, and pallet jacks. • Experience working with power tools relevant to assembly and construction tasks. • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the workday. • Strong reliability and punctuality, with a consistent record of showing up on time and ready to work. • Safety-conscious mindset with commitment to following safety procedures and maintaining a clean work area. • Ability to work effectively as a team player to achieve shared production goals. • Experience in commercial construction or assembly is highly beneficial. • Experience in warehouse production or industrial environments. • Demonstrated ability to work in a structured, robotics-supported environment. • Strong work ethic and willingness to perform repetitive tasks. • Good communication skills to coordinate tasks and progress with team members. • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced setting. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Detroit, MI. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
