About this role

Job Title: Fabrication SpecialistJob DescriptionThe Fabrication Specialist operates one or more fabricating machines to produce high-quality sheet metal parts in accordance with company and customer specifications and drawings. In this role, you set up, change over, adjust, and operate assigned machines while following defined operation sequences and using all necessary tools and resources. You take ownership of the quality of your work and ensure all parts meet required standards before release. Responsibilities • Operate one or more fabricating machines to produce sheet metal parts according to established procedures and instructions. • Set up assigned fabricating machines, including preparing tools, fixtures, and materials as required for each job. • Perform machine changeovers efficiently when moving between different parts, jobs, or production runs. • Adjust machine settings and parameters to achieve correct dimensions, tolerances, and quality requirements. • Follow specified operation sequencing to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient fabrication of parts. • Read and interpret company and customer specifications and drawings to understand part requirements and fabrication steps. • Inspect parts during and after production to verify they meet dimensional, visual, and quality standards. • Identify nonconforming parts and take appropriate action, such as making adjustments or notifying appropriate personnel. • Use all necessary tools and resources provided to complete fabrication tasks safely and accurately. • Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safe and efficient machine operation. • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while operating fabrication equipment. • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding production status, issues, and improvement opportunities. Essential Skills • Ability to operate one or more fabricating machines in a production environment. • Capability to set up and change over fabrication equipment for different parts and jobs. • Skill in adjusting machine settings to meet specified dimensions and quality standards. • Ability to read and interpret company and customer specifications and drawings. • Attention to detail and commitment to checking parts against required specifications. • Basic knowledge of sheet metal fabrication (preferred). • Basic computer knowledge (preferred). Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience working with sheet metal parts in a fabrication or production setting is beneficial. • Comfort using hand tools, measuring tools, and shop equipment commonly used in fabrication. • Strong problem-solving skills to identify and correct issues during fabrication. • Ability to work independently while following established procedures and operation sequences. • Willingness to learn and adapt to new machines, processes, and technologies. Work EnvironmentThis role is based in a fabrication and production environment working with sheet metal parts and fabricating machines. You spend most of your time on the shop floor operating equipment, setting up and changing over machines, and inspecting parts. The work involves handling materials, using tools and measuring devices, and following structured operation sequences. You are expected to follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workstation. Hours and shifts may follow typical production schedules, with the possibility of variation depending on workload and operational needs. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Palmyra, MO. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
