Job Title: Shipping and Receiving SpecialistJob DescriptionThe Shipping and Receiving Specialist accurately manages the flow of materials in and out of the warehouse by receiving inventory, preparing shipments, and maintaining organized stock levels. This role operates material handling equipment, prepares shipping documentation, and ensures timely and accurate order fulfillment while supporting a safe, clean, and efficient warehouse environment. Responsibilities • Receive incoming inventory by unloading materials from trucks or other vehicles and verifying shipments against documentation. • Pull items from bins and storage areas to fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently. • Load and unload materials safely on and off trucks or other vehicles using appropriate material handling equipment. • Manage inventory levels by organizing stock, tracking materials, and supporting inventory control activities. • Prepare bills of lading and other shipping documents accurately and in a timely manner. • Fit hoses and couplings as required to meet order specifications and customer needs. • Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and free of hazards to support safety and efficiency. • Resolve customer complaints professionally by identifying issues and working toward effective solutions. • Operate forklifts and other lifting devices safely and in accordance with company procedures. • Pick up and make local deliveries as needed to support customer orders and operational requirements. • Perform all shipping and receiving duties, including labeling, staging, and verifying shipments. • Identify and correct unsafe conditions in the warehouse to maintain a safe work environment. Essential Skills • Demonstrated experience in shipping and receiving operations. • Proficiency in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment. • Experience working with inventory management processes in a warehouse environment. • Familiarity with ERP systems or similar inventory and order management tools. • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly with strong attention to detail. • Strong listening and oral communication skills with a clear command of the English language. • Ability to actively attend to, convey, and understand the comments and questions of others. • Willingness to accept responsibility for actions and follow company procedures. • Ability to accept constructive criticism and apply feedback without becoming defensive. • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to take care of customer needs while following company procedures. • Ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety. • At least two years of warehouse experience, with preference for candidates bringing 5–7 years of experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Previous experience in a warehouse setting handling shipping, receiving, and inventory tasks. • Experience fitting hoses and couplings or working with similar industrial components. • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment. • Strong organizational skills to maintain orderly storage areas and accurate records. • Reliability and punctuality to support consistent warehouse operations. • Comfort working extra hours when needed to complete inventory or meet order demands. Work EnvironmentThis role is based in a warehouse environment that is not climate-controlled, so temperatures and conditions may vary with the seasons. Standard hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with additional hours during inventory counts or when order volume requires extra effort. The position involves frequent use of forklifts and other lifting devices, as well as regular material handling, loading, and unloading. The work requires maintaining a clean, organized, and safe warehouse space and being comfortable with a physically active role throughout the day. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bossier City, LA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
