Job Title: CourierJob DescriptionThis role involves performing timely and accurate pickups and deliveries within the city and surrounding areas, supporting logistics operations by transporting products and materials to specified locations. The courier assists with loading and unloading trucks, verifies quantities of received goods, and ensures all related paperwork is forwarded to the appropriate department. The position requires frequent interaction with internal stakeholders, particularly in a healthcare-related environment, and consistent use of computers and email to manage orders, invoices, and transportation documentation. Responsibilities • Perform scheduled pickups and deliveries within the city and surrounding areas in a safe and timely manner. • Collect incoming products and materials and deliver outgoing items at designated times. • Transport products and materials to specified locations, including healthcare facilities and related sites. • Assist with loading and unloading trucks, including box trucks, ensuring materials are handled safely and efficiently. • Verify quantities of received goods and ensure accuracy against shipping documents. • Forward all related paperwork and documentation to the appropriate department promptly. • Use scanners to record materials and maintain accurate inventory and shipment records. • Support order management and invoice processing as part of daily logistics activities. • Perform recordkeeping tasks related to shipping, receiving, physical inventories, and quality control checks. • Communicate effectively with hospital personnel and other stakeholders to coordinate deliveries and resolve issues. • Use computers, Microsoft Office applications, and email systems such as Outlook to manage logistics information and correspondence. • Adhere to all transportation, safety, and company policies while operating vehicles and handling materials. • Work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive workplace culture. • Maintain a professional appearance and follow the established dress code while on duty. Essential Skills • 4–5 years of experience as a courier. • 4–5 years of experience working in customer service. • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required. • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record at the time of hire and maintained throughout employment. • Familiarity with the Charleston area. • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with hospital personnel and other stakeholders. • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. • Demonstrated ability to handle recordkeeping tasks, including shipping and receiving documentation, physical inventories, and quality control checks. • Proficiency with computers, including intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. • Experience using email systems such as Outlook for daily communication and coordination. • Inventory and material handling experience. • Logistics and transportation experience. • Ability to stand on feet for the entire shift. • Physical ability to pick orders and stock shipments. • Ability to use scanners to record materials accurately. • Experience driving and assisting with unloading trucks, including box trucks. • Strong customer service orientation and ability to interact professionally with internal and external contacts. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Previous experience as a courier or in delivery roles, ideally within a healthcare environment. • Experience in order management and invoice processing. • Experience working with logistics systems and processes. • Commercial driving experience, including operating box trucks; CDL experience is beneficial. • Experience in a healthcare-related courier role is highly preferred. • Comfort working in a fast-paced, team-oriented logistics or warehouse setting. • Attention to detail and accuracy in verifying quantities and completing documentation. • Ability to adapt to different shift times and work overtime when needed. The dress code is office casual with sneakers, balancing professionalism and comfort for a physically active role. Shift options include 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., providing flexibility for different schedules. The position involves standing for most of the shift, frequent lifting and material handling, and working both in warehouse or logistics areas and on the road while making deliveries. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Charleston, SC. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
