Now Hiring Assemblers - $22/hr Job DescriptionThis role focuses on assembling from start to finish in a fast-paced production environment. You will work with hand and power tools, follow detailed production lists and work instructions, and ensure that every product meets strict quality standards. The position requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work efficiently as part of a production team.Responsibilities
• Read and follow production lists, control plans, and written work instructions accurately. • Identify and select the proper materials needed for each assembly task. • Inspect each phase of the assembly process to ensure products meet quality standards. • Advise team members and supervisors of material shortages, defects, or quality issues in a timely manner. • Use drills, screw guns, nail and staple guns, chop saws, routers, sanders, and other hand and power tools safely and effectively. • Measure materials accurately using a tape measure and verify dimensions as required. • Follow standard work procedures to maintain consistency and efficiency in production. • Handle and move materials and finished products, including lifting items weighing 50 pounds or more. • Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety guidelines and practices. • Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and support continuous improvement efforts. Essential Skills
• High school diploma, GED, or HSED. • Basic reading and math skills to interpret work instructions and production lists. • Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately. • Ability to safely operate drills, screw guns, nail and staple guns, chop saws, routers, sanders, and other tools and equipment used in assembly. • Comfort working with hand tools and power tools in a production or general labor environment. • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds or more as part of daily duties. • Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform mechanical assembly tasks. • Ability to follow standard work, control plans, and written work instructions consistently. • Reliability in attending scheduled shifts and working a four 10-hour day schedule. • Experience in assembly, production, general labor, or construction environments. • Familiarity with mechanical assembly processes and using a variety of hand tools and power tools. • Experience reading basic blueprints or production drawings. • Comfort working in a warm, non-air-conditioned manufacturing environment. • Willingness to follow safety requirements, including appropriate footwear and hair restraints when applicable. • Interest in long-term career growth and development within a manufacturing setting. The standard schedule follows a four 10-hour day workweek from Monday through Thursday, with a first shift running approximately 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and a second shift running approximately 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. Occasional work on Fridays may be scheduled for a half or full day, with notice provided earlier in the week. The workday includes two twelve-minute breaks and one thirty-minute lunch break. The facility employs several hundred people and operates in a non-air-conditioned environment, so it can become warm, especially during hotter months. The dress code requires steel-toed shoes for safety, while allowing flexible attire such as shorts and t-shirts, provided clothing remains appropriate and free of offensive content. Individuals with long hair must secure it in a ponytail or bun for safety. You will work on a production floor using a variety of hand and power tools, handling materials and finished products throughout your shift in a team-oriented environment focused on safety and quality. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dubuque, IA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.20 - $22.20/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
