Job Title: Order PullerJob DescriptionThis role focuses on accurately pulling cable orders from inventory, cutting and preparing custom lengths, and packaging finished spools for shipment in a growing startup warehouse environment. You will work from pick sheets, use basic computer systems to print orders, and support various warehouse functions as needed while maintaining strong attention to detail. Responsibilities • Review daily pick sheets and order sheets to determine required cable types and lengths. • Pull spools of stock cable from inventory and verify that the correct product and quantities match the pick sheet. • Measure and cut cable to the specified lengths and load the cut cable onto blank spools. • Ensure the length of cable on each finished spool accurately matches the order requirements. • Package finished spools using shrink wrap or other packaging materials as needed to prepare them for shipping. • Record and mark the remaining amount of stock on each spool when returning it to inventory. • Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, including preparing orders for shipment and helping process incoming materials. • Use computer systems to print out orders, labels, and related documentation. • Maintain organized inventory areas and help track stock levels through accurate counts and documentation. • Support other warehouse functions and departments as needed, wearing multiple hats in a startup environment. • Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, orderly work area throughout the shift. • Adapt to changing workload demands, including staying later or arriving earlier when required. Essential Skills • At least 3 years of warehouse experience. • At least 3 years of experience pulling orders using pick sheets or order sheets. • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate cable measurements and order fulfillment. • Ability to use computers to access the system and print out orders. • Capability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment and support multiple tasks. • Willingness to assist in various areas of the warehouse as needed. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Any inventory experience is a plus. • Experience with shipping and receiving processes is beneficial. • Comfort working in a startup operation where responsibilities may evolve. • Ability to work cooperatively with a small warehouse team. Work EnvironmentYou will work in a very large warehouse with a small team of around 10 people, fostering close collaboration and communication. The facility is a non–air-conditioned environment, so you should be comfortable working in varying temperatures. The role follows a first-shift schedule of 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with the possibility of starting earlier or staying later depending on workload. You will use basic computer systems and standard warehouse equipment while following safety practices throughout the day. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
