About this role

Job Title: General Production WorkerJob DescriptionThis role supports a high-volume production line by operating machinery, handling parts, and performing basic assembly tasks in a clean, well-organized manufacturing environment. You will work on a crane-assisted line handling 40 lb parts throughout the shift, helping to ensure products meet quality standards and move efficiently through the production process. Responsibilities • Operate CNC machines and presses safely and efficiently to support production targets. • Load and unload parts from CNC machines or presses using crane assistance as required. • Use hand tools to assemble parts accurately on a production line. • Measure parts to verify they are within specified tolerances and meet quality standards. • Add covers to finished axles before they move through the paint line. • Lift axles and other materials, including overhead lifting, while maintaining safe body mechanics. • Perform repetitive bending, lifting, and twisting throughout the shift while following safety guidelines. • Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment, including steel-toed footwear. • Maintain a clean and organized work area to support a safe and efficient production environment. • Work mandatory overtime as needed, including up to six days per week. • Adhere to scheduled shift hours, including first or third shift options, and reliably report to work on time. Essential Skills • Prior machine operating experience in a manufacturing or production environment. • Hands-on experience operating production or manufacturing equipment of any type. • Ability to consistently lift 40 lbs throughout the duration of the shift. • Ability to perform frequent bending, lifting, twisting, and overhead lifting safely. • Strong attention to detail when measuring parts and verifying tolerances. • Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand tools for assembly work. • Commitment to following safety protocols and maintaining a safe work environment. • Reliability and willingness to work mandatory overtime, including up to six days per week. • High school diploma or GED. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience working on a warehouse or production floor environment. • Comfort working on a crane-assisted production line handling heavier parts. • Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks with consistent quality. • Willingness to learn new machines and processes as production needs evolve. Work EnvironmentThe role is based on a warehouse/production floor that is very clean and well lit, with a strong emphasis on safety and proper procedures. You will work on a T1 production line using crane assistance to handle 40 lb parts and operate CNC machines and presses in a high-volume manufacturing setting. Available shifts include first shift (Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM) and third shift (Sunday–Thursday, 9:00 PM–7:00 AM), with current operations running six days per week and mandatory overtime. The dress code requires jeans, a shirt without logos or vulgar language, and steel-toed boots or shoes. Safety is prioritized, and appropriate personal protective equipment is required at all times. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Detroit, MI. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
