General Production Worker Job DescriptionThis role focuses on operating stamping presses on an afternoon/evening shift, loading and unloading materials, supporting quality inspections, and packaging finished parts to meet production goals in an organized metal stamping environment.Responsibilities
• Operate stamping press machines safely and efficiently during scheduled production shifts. • Load metal coils into machines and unload finished parts as they come out of the press. • Assist setup technicians during machine setups and while they perform quality inspections. • Monitor production output and help ensure parts meet quality standards. • Build boxes and paper skids to prepare for packing and shipping. • Pack and secure parts at the packing station using banding tools and other packaging equipment. • Follow established production procedures and safety guidelines at all times. • Maintain a clean and organized work area around the stamping presses and packing stations. • Communicate any equipment issues, material shortages, or quality concerns to the appropriate team members. • Support team productivity by working collaboratively and being willing to help in different areas as needed. Essential Skills
• At least 1 year of experience working with metal stamping presses. • Proven ability to operate stamping press or similar production machinery. • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds on a regular basis. • Experience with loading and unloading materials in a production environment. • Basic understanding of production workflows and machine operation. • Attention to detail to support quality inspections and accurate packaging. • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and standard operating procedures. • Reliability in adhering to scheduled shift hours and overtime requirements. Additional Skills & Qualifications
• 6+ months experience working in metal stamping or stamping press operations (nice to have). • Familiarity with banding tools and other packing equipment. • Experience in general production, manufacturing, or warehouse environments. • Comfort working around loud machinery with appropriate protective equipment. • Strong teamwork and communication skills in a production setting. While the stamping presses can be loud, the workspace is not dirty and is designed to support safe and efficient production. The role follows an afternoon/evening shift schedule from 3:00 p.m. to 1:10 a.m., Monday through Thursday, with potential overtime on Fridays for an additional 8-hour shift if needed. Team members work around stamping presses, coils, packing stations, and banding tools, and use appropriate protective equipment to manage noise and safety. The facility promotes a structured, production-focused environment where employees can focus on quality output and consistent processes. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, MI. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
