Job Title: Machine BuilderJob DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Machine Builder to join our team. This position operates on the first shift from 7 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday. The role involves significant welding and fabricating, as well as manual machining tasks such as using lathes, mills, and grinders. Responsibilities • Build sub-assemblies from piece parts. • Construct new machines and rebuild existing machines from sub-assemblies using blueprints, verbal, and written instructions. • Ensure all parts are available for sub-assembly by checking parts in boxes against bills of materials. • Collaborate with the Engineering Department to verify the accuracy of blueprints or spec sheets. Essential Skills • Welding and fabrication skills, particularly with stainless steel. • Mechanical assembly and machine building experience. • Proficient in blueprint reading and the use of power and hand tools. • Ability to troubleshoot electrical components and work with pneumatics. • Repair and maintenance skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Previous mechanical experience such as production mechanic, auto mechanic (certification required), or machine shop experience. • Completion of one blueprint reading class and one shop math class. • Ability to use precision measuring tools like micrometers and verniers. • Fluency in reading and writing in English. • Strong communication skills. • Must pass a company-administered mechanical test.
