Job Title: Janitor or LandscapingJob DescriptionThe Environmental Service Attendant maintains a clean, safe, and orderly environment across campus facilities and grounds. This role performs a wide range of custodial and general cleaning tasks in dormitories, academic buildings, athletic facilities, and outdoor campus areas, ensuring a welcoming and well-maintained setting for all campus users.Responsibilities
• Perform daily custodial and janitorial duties to maintain clean and orderly facilities and grounds on campus. • Clean dormitories, including common areas, hallways, restrooms, and other shared spaces, following established standards and procedures. • Clean offices and academic buildings, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and emptying trash and recycling receptacles. • Maintain cleanliness in athletic facilities, ensuring that locker rooms, seating areas, and common spaces remain sanitary and presentable. • Support groundskeeping activities, including outdoor cleaning tasks, debris removal, and general upkeep of campus grounds. • Perform general labor tasks related to cleaning and custodial work as assigned. • Use appropriate cleaning products, tools, and equipment safely and in accordance with guidelines. • Follow schedules and assigned routes for cleaning different buildings and areas on campus. • Maintain a neat and organized work area and properly store cleaning supplies and equipment after use. • Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or unusual conditions to the appropriate personnel. • Comply with all safety procedures and workplace policies while performing custodial and groundskeeping duties. Essential Skills
• Ability to perform janitorial, cleaning, and general labor tasks consistently and reliably. • Capability to clean offices, dorms, academic buildings, athletic facilities, and outdoor areas. • Willingness to perform cleaning and custodial duties across a variety of settings, including indoor and outdoor environments. • No prior experience required; ability to learn and follow cleaning procedures and instructions. • No formal education requirements; ability to understand and carry out basic directions. • Reliability in adhering to assigned schedules, including weekday and weekend shifts. Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Comfort working in both temperature-controlled and non-temperature-controlled environments. • Flexibility to work different shifts, including Monday through Friday, Sunday through Thursday, or Tuesday through Saturday, depending on assignment. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to complete cleaning and groundskeeping tasks efficiently. • Strong attention to detail when maintaining cleanliness and order in assigned areas. • No certifications required, making this role accessible to individuals entering the workforce or changing careers. Work takes place in both temperature-controlled and non-temperature-controlled environments, depending on assignment. Typical shifts include 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM Monday through Friday for groundskeeping, 4:00 AM to 12:30 PM Monday - Friday and 4:30 PM to 1:00 AM Sunday through Thursday for academic buildings. The position involves regular physical activity, including standing, walking, and performing cleaning tasks throughout the shift, in a professional campus setting. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bowling Green, KY. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $13.72 - $13.72/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
