About this role

Job Title: Production WorkerJob DescriptionThis role focuses on producing, packing, and loading candy, popped corn, and brittle products in a clean kitchen environment. You will follow strict Good Manufacturing Practices, safety guidelines, and quality procedures while manually cooking products over a propane stove and supporting the overall production and packaging operations. Responsibilities • Follow and comply with all facility Good Manufacturing Practices, safety rules, and quality procedures at all times. • Pack and load candy and baked goods accurately and efficiently to meet production requirements. • Manually produce popped corn products using stove top equipment and propane-fueled cooking processes. • Manage and organize all ingredients needed to support ongoing cooking and production operations. • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized work area, including equipment and surrounding production space. • Assist in both Production and Packaging departments as a Production Team Member when needed. • Complete daily cleaning schedules, including routine and specialty cleaning duties, to maintain a safe and hygienic environment. • Participate in inventory cycle counts and help monitor ingredient and product levels. • Train and perform as a backup for certain Lead functions when requested by the Production Lead or Production Manager. • Support co-manufacturing and co-packaging of products for other companies as assigned. • Handle repetitive tasks efficiently while maintaining high quality and consistency. • Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Lead or Production Manager to support production goals. Essential Skills • Demonstrated commitment to customer service and fostering a positive, team-oriented environment. • Ability to understand and follow company procedures and directions from leadership. • Ability to read, understand, and follow written recipes accurately. • Capability to project a professional attitude and remain composed under pressure. • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. • Recognized ability to work with a strong sense of urgency and meet production timelines. • Willingness and ability to work overtime periodically as business needs require. • High school diploma or GED preferred. • Ability to stand for long periods of time during shifts. • Ability to work in a hot environment, including standing over stoves and hot pots and pans. • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly. • Comfort performing repetitive tasks with consistency and attention to detail. • Experience in production, general labor, general production, or food handling is highly relevant. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Some cooking or baking experience is preferred and will support success in the role. • Experience in a food production or manufacturing environment is a plus. • Familiarity with manual cooking over propane stoves is beneficial. • Strong attention to cleanliness and sanitation in a kitchen or production setting. • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic. • Flexibility to adapt to varying production needs and schedules. Work EnvironmentYou will work in a clean kitchen environment focused on candy, popcorn, and brittle production. The role involves standing for long periods and working in a hot area, especially when cooking brittle over a stove with hot pots and pans. Production hours are generally Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with some variation possible and limited overtime. The work involves manual cooking over propane stoves, repetitive tasks, and handling ingredients and finished products while following strict safety, sanitation, and quality standards. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mechanicsburg, PA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
